A 44 year old male received a $660,000 settlement for injuries he suffered as a result of a fall from a catwalk which was suspended approximately fourteen feet in the air. The injured plaintiff was working on a television set in Queens, New York, when the board he stepped on slipped from the catwalk causing the plaintiff to fall to the stage below. The instant case was a Labor Law § 240 case which required the employer to provide the appropriate safety measures required by law. The injured plaintiff received the $660,000 settlement for injuries he sustained which included but are not limited to a fracture to his right ankle requiring surgery.
